Honor Flight would not be successful without the generous support of our guardians. Guardians play a significant role on every trip, ensuring that every veteran has a safe and memorable experience. Guardians MUST be 2nd Generation or younger and able-bodied. Same generation spouses may NOT serve as Guardians. The primary responsibility of a Guardian is the physical safety and security of one or more Veterans – helping up and down steps, off buses, wheeling Veterans up and down ramps, and physically handling equipment and baggage. This is a physical, working trip for Guardians. Mature teens, adults and ‘sturdy’ retirees are welcomed to serve as guardians. Guardian applications must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to flight and should be submitted at the same time Veterans apply to go. Guardians are also responsible for a significant contribution to expenses (airline fare, etc.).
Guardians are also asked to contribute $300 toward their own expense, but that does not come due until flight time. We underwrite the $150 difference in appreciation of your working service throughout the flight.
Thank you for your generous support.
